May 30 – June 27
$400 – limited to 8 students
This 5-week workshop is open to beginners interested in learning the business and seasoned professionals looking for a brush-up. Taught by Jason Sasportas, head of the voice-over department at Stewart Talent, this class covers commercial, promo, broadcast narration, audio books, animation and videogames. Students will have the opportunity to record in the sound booth and receive detailed feedback from Jason. Since networking is a huge part of success in this business, a casting director will be invited on one of the nights for a Q&A and to hear students perform mock auditions.
UPDATE! Andy Roth is the confirmed guest casting director. Andy will attend the third week of class on Wednesday, June 13th, to give students feedback on commercial audition reads and participate in a Q&A session.

Jason Sasportas initially trained as an actor and screenwriter at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts before making the shift to the business side of entertainment. He landed his first agency job at The William Morris Agency as an assistant, working for several theatrical agents, before joining their commercial department as booth director. It was there that Jason fell in love with voice-over, able to draw upon his acting and writing experience to effectively direct talent, interpret copy and make informed creative choices.
When Jason learned that Stewart Talent, a boutique agency in NY, was looking for an agent to start up their voice-over department, he jumped at the opportunity. He got the job, built the department from scratch and for over a decade now has been successfully developing and nurturing the careers of his clients. While commercials are his main focus, Jason covers all areas of voiceover, including audio books, promos, documentaries, industrials, animated series and video games.
Specializing in Voice Over, Andy Roth is one of New York’s busiest casting directors with a career that has spanned over two decades. After several years as the in house casting director for one of the country’s top commercial talent agencies, Cunningham Escott Slevin & Doherty (CESD), where he did the voice casting for over a thousand projects for animation, commercial, television, film, video games and more, he decided to strike out on his own. Since then he has been working with many of the biggest advertising agencies, casting houses and production companies in the world. He has worked on projects for such high profile companies as Blizzard Entertainment, Disney, Rockstar Games, Nickelodeon, Kraft, Bank of America and many more, and his handiwork can be seen on just about any network, cable channel, video game system, and all over the Internet.
An award-winning writer/producer. His most recent animated projects “Enchanted Thyme – The Delicious Adventure Series,” and “The Peculiar Adventures of Willow B. Star,” gained him national attention and a prestigious 2016 Telly Award. His first short film “The Lovers” staring Steven Ogg (Westworld, The Walking Dead, Grand Theft Auto) and Chris Phillips (Ice Age, Max Payne) was picked up for global distribution by Hypnotic. He then went on to work with Daily Show writer, J.R. Havlan to Co-Produce “The Catskill Chainsaw Redemption.”
